Dr Greg Carnie, PhD MEng
Having obtained his PhD in computational fluid dynamics and finite element analysis from the University of Sheffield, Greg continued on as a Research Associate for Rolls-Royce. Completing two contracts with Rolls-Royce for the implementation and verification of a new and novel meshing algorithm for their own in-house code which led to two patents. With an excellent platform established in computer modelling, Greg then opted to move to the Oil and Gas industry in Aberdeen to expand on the core skills he had already developed. Moving to Aberdeen has allowed him to aid in the design and testing of subsea engineering products through various projects.
With over 10 years experience in R&D since obtaining his PhD, Greg leads the EC-OG R&D development program.
Paul Slorach, BScEng
Business Development Manager
Paul joined EC-OG in November 2013. Graduating in 2004, Paul has worked with a number of first tier service contractors, independents and international operators. This diverse experience has provided Paul with an in-depth understanding of the Oil & Gas industry and knowledge of a wide range of products and services. With a focus on quality and customer service, Paul has proven capable in all aspects the product and project life cycle, from design and manufacturing through to delivery and project management.
Having over ten years experience in industry, a high level of technical expertise and great business acumen, will allow Paul to lead the business development program demonstrating EC-OG’s capabilities and aligning them to the client’s needs.
Bodhi Sarkar, CEng MIMechE
Bodhi joined EC-OG in 2013, a chartered engineer and member of the IMechE with over 10 years experience in subsea design and project engineering. Prior to EC-OG, he spent time at OneSubsea and GE where he gained invaluable experience and knowledge in standard production and intervention equipment along with more bespoke equipment for individual clients.
Working with these various clients on numerous projects from around the globe, Bodhi gained an understanding of regional and client specific needs for the delivery of subsea projects.
In his role as Senior Engineer within EC-OG, Bodhi takes the lead in delivery of a diverse range of projects.
Jacqueline Carnie, HND
Jacqueline gained her HND in Business Management in 2011. Since joining the company in June 2014, Jacqueline has developed the company’s quality management systems and processes allowing the company to gain their ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditation. Jacqueline also looks after the day to day running of the company including accounts and office administration.
Design Team Lead
Robert has 12 years experience in design using CAD systems including Solidworks, ACAD and ProE.
Robert began his career as an apprentice draughtsman in the automotive industry working his way up to Senior Designer. In 2007 Robert made the change to Oil & Gas Industry working for GE. Here he gained a deep understanding of subsea production and intervention equipment. Robert Joined EC-OG in 2014 to lead the design team.
David Wilkie, MSc
Senior Control Systems Software Engineer
A software engineer (MIET) with over 12 years’ experience in oil and gas industry previously working with 1st tier service companies. Through his career he has worked to senior engineer level and has taken responsibility for management and delivery of control systems software work scopes on several large scale projects for major clients.
David has also gained valuable experience working with control and automation systems in both the medical and transport industries. His experience spans full development life cycle over a number of hardware platforms including microcontrollers, PLC systems and PC based systems, with input on design, planning and implementation through testing and on-site deployment of various control systems worldwide.
Jonny Moroney, HNC
Jonny has over 11 years’ experience in a diverse range of commercial and technical roles within the oil & gas industry.
Jonny began his career by completing his modern apprenticeship with GE Oil & Gas before specialising in engineering design and working his way up to lead designer level within the R&D department. Proficient in such 3D CAD software as Pro/Engineer and Autodesk Inventor, Jonny developed his career further at Geoprober, where he undertook project engineering and eventually a project manager role. Here he worked on subsea equipment for the oil & gas industry.
Electrical & Electronics Engineer
Colin Crighton joins the team as Electrical & Electronics Engineer. In this position, Colin will work to develop the control system for the Subsea Power Hub (SPH). Over his career, Colin has acquired skills which are vital to the SPH project. This includes significant experience in the Oil & Gas industry, as well as knowledge gained through designing environmental and weather monitoring systems.
Graceann Robertson, MA (Hons)
Graceann graduated from the University of Aberdeen in June 2016 with a Master of Arts Joint Honours degree in French and Management Studies. Graceann joined the team as Marketing Co-ordinator after successfully completing a summer internship at EC-OG.
As a Marketing Co-ordinator, Graceann drives the implementation of the marketing strategy and is responsible for promoting EC-OG through various channels including industry events and publications.
Ross Mitchell, HNC
Ross Mitchell became a member of the EC-OG team in January 2017 when he took on the role of Draughtsman.
Before joining EC-OG, Ross completed an HNC in Mechanical Engineering at Aberdeen College and held various roles within different companies with a focus on CAD and Sales.
Ugne Fomkinaite, MSc
Project Management Co-ordinator
After successfully completing an internship, Ugne joined EC-OG full-time.
Ugne graduated from Vilnius University, Lithuania in 2014 with a BA (Hons) in English Philology and continued her studies at Aberdeen University graduating with a masters’ degree (with commendation) in International Business Management, in 2016.
Ugne’s university experience and previous work experience in the retail industry provide a sound basis for her main tasks at EC-OG, which include supporting the Project Manager to plan and schedule, assist with budget and cost estimates and to monitor work streams.
Ketuweni Tilagucaguca recently took up the role of Designer within the EC-OG team.
Ketu studied Architectural Technology in New Zealand, where he then went on to work as an Architectural Technician for 3 years.
On moving to the UK in 2012, he used transferable skills from his architectural experience to work within the subsea sector in Aberdeen. As a Draughtsman in Marine Technology, he created bespoke design drawings for tools that interfaced with ROVs.
As part of the Subsea Power Hub project, he produces concept and detailed drawings as well as machine and fabrication drawings.
George Leith, MSc
George Leith is an experienced Electronics Engineer and holds an MSc degree from the University of Aberdeen. His background includes 9 years in the Royal Navy as a Weapons Electrical Artificer, where he undertook a comprehensive training programme.
He spent 10 years at the University of Aberdeen as an Electronics Technician including working on PCB design as well as supporting post-graduate laboratory coursework.
George then went on to work as a Senior Electronics Engineer within the subsea engineering sector in Aberdeen, spending 19 years at a leading services company.
At EC-OG, George takes on the role of Electronics Engineer to support the development of the advanced electronics system within the Subsea Power Hub.
Anil, a doctoral researcher in the field of mechanical engineering at the Robert Gordon University (RGU), joined EC-OG this August as a part time Graduate Engineer.
As a doctorate student at RGU, his research was on the strength characterisation of adhesive bonds using FEA and experimental techniques. Prior to that, he pursued a research fellowship in one of the leading materials research facilities in India (ARCI, Hyperabad, India) where he worked with a variety of material testing and characterisation techniques. He also had working experience in implementing CFD tools to optimise supersonic nozzle designs for use in metal coating deposition.
At EC-OG, Anil is working alongside our team developing our new technologies.
Catherine McNeice BSc MIET
Software & Firmware Engineer
Catherine graduated from Paisley University with a degree in Software Engineering. After completing her degree, she relocated to Aberdeen to take up a position within Aker Solutions.
During her time at Aker, Catherine produced Master Control System (MCS) software for a major Oil & Gas operator as well as software for other projects. This MCS software was configured to allow monitoring and control of subsea equipment from a wide array of vendors. She spent 11 years with the company and was most recently working as Senior Software Engineer.
Catherine brings with her a wealth of experience of software engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
Conroy Rowley BSc
Conroy studied a Computer-Aided Mechanical Engineering degree at Glasgow Caledonian University. This course was a combination of mechanical engineering, computer-aided engineering and systems design engineering.
On graduating, Conroy took on a Graduate Engineering position at Proserv. Over the course of 6 years, he worked within a variety of different departments including subsea equipment, down-hole sampling and marine technology. During this time, he became Lead Engineer on several successful projects.
Daniel Willoughby MEng, CEng
Daniel Willoughby graduated from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering.
On graduation, Daniel joined the Aker Solutions graduate programme. He was part of the subsea wellheads team for 3 years. On moving to Weatherford, he was based in the Middle East where he was the Surface Wellheads and Trees Engineer for the region. More recently, Daniel was Product Leader for BHGE’s Shallow Water Tree within their subsea Christmas Trees team. At BHGE, he also developed product configuration methodology and supported customer projects.
Daniel is a Chartered Engineer with the IMechE and has mentored Graduate Engineers through the Monitored Professional Development Scheme (MPDS).
Jamie Booth MEng
Graduate Mechanical Engineer
Jamie joins EC-OG as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, after having completed a Masters’ degree in Mechanical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University.
During this 5-year course, Jamie developed core skills in conceiving and designing products and systems. In his fourth year, he completed a dissertation in computational fluid dynamics.
Whilst completing his Highers and Advanced Highers at Meldrum Academy, he also completed an HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
Within his role of Graduate Mechanical Engineer at EC-OG, Jamie works across several projects.
Louise joins the EC-OG team with over 15 years’ experience in projects, procurement strategy and administration support.
Louise started her career at GE as an Assistant Buyer, moving through various departments within the company. She was promoted to the role of Project Co-ordinator, where she was responsible for driving through orders of new builds, repairs, engineering jobs and spares.
Louise undertakes a variety of office administration activities including purchasing, filing and document management for the daily running of the business. She assists the team across disciplines such as engineering, marketing and finance.
